Fly Fishing Team Japan members are Japanese Ambassadors in the field of the sport of Fly Fishing. Team Japan is leaded by Captain Misako Ishimura, Chair of World Fly Fishing of Japan (WFFJ) to FIPS Mouche World Fly Fishing Championship and Conservation Symposium (WFFCCS) in 2000-England, in 2002-France, in 2003-Spain, in 2004-Slovakia, 2005-Sweden, 2007-Finland and 2008-New Zealand. We are now preparing for 2009-Scotland.
Team Japan promotes the sport of fly fishing and makes effort to establish the friendly relationships with the anglers internationally for saving wild fish and protect clean water.
Team Japan is supported by World Fly Fishing of Japan (WFFJ) http://www.wffj.org. WFFJ has members in world wide. This is the only one organization to be able to form a Fly Fishing National Team called Fly Fishing Team Japan for FIPS Mouche WFFC and has a right to hold WFFCCS in Japan. 2008 New Zealand WFFC Anglers Topic:
Mr. Kiyoshi Nagagawa placed at 18th as an individual placing. Mr. Jiri Kilma is going to retire with three gold medals as a captain of Fly Fishing Czech Republic. We all miss him in the following WFFC. We had one of bests attended Conservation Symposium. The reports are very well done. It was interesting how they were going to solve the pollution problems caused by raising cows.
In New Zealand, Fly Fishing Team Japan had sponsors, Gamakatsu, Smith Ltd. and Fujno. We have extinguish couple as our guests. Mr.and Mrs. Seiichiro Otsuka and Dr. and Mrs. John Kirk. Mr. Otsuka is WFFJ Honorary Chair and Dr. Kirk is Vice Chair of WFFJ.
Their profile: Mr. Seiichiro Otsuka : He has been an avid angler for about 50 years. He especially enjoys fly-fishing with his wife Makiko and his son. He is always interested in encounters with other anglers and people. He supports environmental preservation through fly-fishing and he practices ' catch and release.' He writes essays on life and humor and plays Scottish Highland bagpipes. During his career as a diplomat, he served as the Japanese ambassador in Sweden, Latvia and Sri Lanka as well as consul general in New York and Edinburh (Scotland).
Dr. John Kirk:He has served as Director and Professor of Environmental Studies at the New Jersey School of Conservation, a division of Montclair State University. Under his supervision, the School of Conservation has become the largest college operated environmental field center in the world. He received his Bachelor of Science in Education from Boston University and his Master of Arts in Educational Administration and his Doctorate of Philosophy in Environmental Studies from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Dr. Kirk has lectured at International Environmental Conferences in Southern Africa, the Republic of Ireland, Vancouver, British Columbia, Quebec and Japan. He has also lectured at over sixty colleges and universities in Europe and the United Kingdom. In addition, he has served as a consultant on environmental education curriculum development for the Republic of Mexico, six provinces of Canada and several states in the United States. His articles on the history and philosophy of environmental education have appeared in nine languages in professional journals throughout the world. He has served as president of three national organizations, the American Camping Association, the Outdoor Education Council of the United States and the American Nature Study Society. He is currently serving as Coordinator for the United Nations Environmental Sabbath / Earth Care Day, a program he assisted in establishing in 1987 which takes place the first weekend in June each year and focuses the attention of organized religions on the issues of environmental degradation and the threat to life on the Planet. He also serves as Vice-Chairman of the New Jersey State Commission for Environmental Education which has developed the New Jersey Environmental Education Master Plan. Other professional activities include serving as Environmental Education Advisor and member of the Board of Directors of the National Council of State Garden Clubs, Inc., with the responsibility to assist in developing Environmental Studies Schools throughout the country. He has also been appointed by the Governor of New Jersey to serve as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Sussex County Community College.

WFFJ Tyer/ José Manuel Ruiz: His nick name is Cholo. He lives in Leon, Spain and he becomes WFFJ Fly Tyer in 2006. He makes very creative and artistic flies. 2002 in France -Proposal of making the unified measurement systems for water in the rivers and lakes internationally. 2003 in Spain - Introduce their restoration programs around local rivers and lakes for saving wild brown trout. 2004 in Slovakia - Introduce their conservation programs to save Hucho Hucho. 2005 in Sweden - Introduce their restoration programs of the water ways (rivers) for saving wild fish. 2006 in Portugal - Introduce their current situation and followed by informal gathering to exchange information. fish. 2007 in Finland - Report about Baltic Salmon. 2008 in New Zealand - Report about the pollution from raising cows.

2009 World Fly Fishing Championship will be held from Sep. 5 to Sep. 12 in Scotland. The main hotel will be located in Drymen. There will be two lakes, tow lochs and one river sessions around the area. Lake fishing will be done from the boats. More than 23 National Fly Fishing Teams are expected to be there.
